Established at the end of 1990, Gallery NOVA today is the oldest private gallery in Slovakia. Its exhibition space is located right at the Michael Gate in the centre of Bratislava. The principal aims of gallery NOVA are the presentation of the most significant trends in today's creative art.
The gallery mainly concentrates to present and suport artists who specialize in creating glass objects following the tradition of Cigler School of Glass.
An important part of its activities are exhibitions of Slovak artists, which the gallery organizes abroad.
Gallery NOVA regularly introduces Slovak art at the international art-fairs. Since 1994 till 2002 the gallery participated in the KunstRAI art-fair in Amsterdam. Last year (2004) the gallery took part in the Holland Art Fair in The Hague, the Netherlands and Art Pannonia in Neusiedl am See, Austria. In 2005 gallery NOVA displayed glass works at the St'Art fair in Strasbourg, France and at the Art Bratislava in Bratislava, Slovakia.
